Having been recognised for its capability in successfully accomplishing the objectives from the DRDO spin off project. OAE became known to be the only company in India to have made it possible to manufacture Plastic Aspheric Lenses to the highest standards.

Logical conclusions lead OAE to venture into the business of plastic lenses in a bigger way. Thereby it acquired precision plastic injection-moulding machines with special features assisting in moulding plastic lenses, crystals and precision parts. The facility created also boasts of a central material preparation and handling system. The moulding shop has a smooth covered flooring thereby making it easier to remove dust and spillages, the room air temperature is controlled and thus suppressing turbulence and ingress of dust and achieving a comfortable working environment. The philosophy at our shop has been to provide solutions under one roof for our clients

PLASTICS SECTION: The facility includes closed loop injection moulding machines of  tonnage range of 30 to 50, all located in a controlled air environment (area 1). With remotely located dry air-drying facility for the plastic materials, which are conveyed thru pipelines to the machines. Also apart from the moulding machines we have moulding machines in tonnage range of 60 to 150, which are located in a separate area (area 2).

Area 1: is established solely for the purpose of moulding clear & ultra precision plastics parts. At this facility we produce lenses for Kodak, light pipes for APC, some special connectors for Molex and for a few other companies as well. We are glad to say that our customers are very happy with the support we have given them in terms of quality and on time delivery.

Area 2: is mainly used for precision (larger) engineering parts, at this facility we are undertaking jobs for companies such as Tyco, Schneider electric, ABB and a few others companies. The machines here are also equipped with a dry air dryer and a low speed size reduction machine, as in some cases our clients require to reuse some percentage of material, without the creation of much dust.

Also we have an area marked out specifically for undertaking assembly jobs, if required by any of our clients. This facility is relatively new and can be modified to suit specific requirements

We also have a dedicated team for the purpose of inspection of parts produced, thus maintaining the clients requirements. We conduct inspection thru visual magnification and dimensional check.

We have been running the Plastics Division well over 5 years now and are eagerly looking forward to enhance this business in terms of volume and quality. We can say we have imbibed the qualities of a relatively high-class shop, by catering to a small galaxy of Multi national companies, who have stringent requirements to be met with.

In order to strengthen our presence in the injection moulding activity we have added to our facility a full-fledged tool room, consisting of CNC machining centre, CNC EDM, Precision surface grinding, Milling machine, radial drilling and other conventional machines. Along with tools and handling devices and an inspection area having various inspection instruments.
